French Onion Soup – 1

1/4 cup of butter

4 large onions, sliced into large pieces

6 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon flour

1 teaspoon hot sauce like Tabasco

6 slices toasted French bread

12 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese




In a large pot at medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add the onions and cook until the onions are transparent. Stir in the broth, flour and hot sauce. Lower the heat and cook for 30 minutes.


Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the bread on a cookie sheet and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of cheese over each slice of bread. Bake in the oven for 5 minutes.


Ladle the soup into 6 bowls. Place a slice of bread on top of each bowl with the cheese facing up. Enjoy!
