Sausage Gravy

SERVES: 4

INGREDIENTS:

8 ounces breakfast sausage

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 tablespoons flour

1 1/2 cups milk

Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a skillet at medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Then add the sausage. Cook the sausage while breaking it up into small pieces. When the crumbled sausage is brown move it to a plate that’s covered with a paper towel to soak up the extra oil.

Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to the skillet. Then add the flour and stir constantly. The mixture will start to bubble.

Slowly add the milk and stir constantly. The mixture will start to bubble again. Add the salt and pepper and sausage. Cook for 2 more minutes.

This gravy is great with hot biscuits. You can also spoon the gravy over eggs and vegetables. Serve immediately.
